Safe Lifting Europe B.V. Powers Landmark IJmuiden Project with 3,000-Ton Pillar Hoists

Safe Lifting Europe B.V. are proud to announce that their modular lifting beams played a key role in the recent placement of the two enormous pillars placed by the Heavy Lift Vessel Gulliver in the “Selectieve Onttrekking Ijmuiden” project.

Each pillar, weighing nearly 3,000 tons, was expertly hoisted into position using their modular lifting beams, each boasting a capacity of 2,000t.

Safe Lifting Europe B.V. extend their gratitude to Scaldis SMC for entrusting them with this project and for their confidence in their services.

The project, when completed, will return salt water to the North Sea that enters the canal every time a vessel transits the IJmuiden lock complex. Approximately 1,000m³ of concrete per pillar was used in the construction of the pillars.
